Sarah Young’s devotional book, Jesus Calling contains 365 Daily Devotions, Devotional Calendars, and Devotional Literature. Young is the daughter of a college professor who encouraged her to be well read and to think for herself. Young majored in philosophy at Wellesley College. She has worked as a technical writer in Virginia. Young went to the Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. It was at the seminary that Young received her masters in Counseling and Bibilical Studies.

Through journalizing and depending upon God, it left Young with the desire to write Jesus Calling. She includes scripture references after each daily devotional. Young suggests that her reader journalizes as they read through each day’s devotion. Young suggests that each day as the reader reads the devotion to ask God for his grace and peace abundantly.

This is my second year of reading Jesus Calling. The devotions are like they are written for me personally. I wish everyone could enjoy this book. If they did, our world would be a better place.
